Private sector lender HDFC Bank on Monday reported a 50.6 per cent jump in its standalone net profit at Rs 15,976 crore in the quarter ended September compared to Rs 10,605.78 crore in the year -ago period.
This is the first quarterly financial result of the bank post merger with HDFC Ltd, which came into effect on July 1. However, the second quarter financial numbers are not comparable with the same period of previous fiscal as the two entities followed different accounting norms, the bank’s Chief Financial Officer Srinivasan Vaidyanathan said.
