Domestic equities fell sharply on Friday but by the end of the sessions, indices pared their gains after a fresh spike in US bond yields and as IT majors HCLTech and Infosys cut their growth forecasts. BSE benchmark Sensex fell 125.65 points, or 0.19 per cent to 66,282.74, while broader NSE Nifty50 fell 59.70 points, or 0.30 per cent to close the week at 19,734.30.
All broader market indices, except for India Vix and Nifty Microcap 250, closed in negative. Nifty Smallcap 50 slipped 0.46 per cent, followed by Nifty Smallcap 100 at 0.44 per cent, Nifty 100 and 200 at 0.18 per cent each and, Nifty Midcap 50 and Nifty 500 at 0.17 per cent.
