After opening higher, domestic indices slumped on Thursday, ahead of the monthly F&O expiry. BSE benchmark Sensex slumped 440.38 points, or, 0.66 per cent to close at 66,266.82, while broader NSE Nifty50 ended at 19,699, down 79.30 points, or 0.4 per cent higher.
In the intraday session, Sensex hit a low of 66,060.74, and Nifty touched 19,603.55.
Broader markets were largely mixed, as Nifty Midcap 50 jumped 0.79 per cent, Nifty Midcap Select climbed 0.36 per cent, Nifty Midcap 100 rose 0.41 per cent, and Nifty Midcap 150 jumped 0.30 per cent.

Sectorally, Nifty Pharma climbed 3.17 per cent, the healthcare index gained 2.80 per cent, Nifty Realty jumped 2.21 per cent, and PSU bank index rose 0.52 per cent.
Mahindra & Mahindra’s shares fell over 7 per cent today after the company said it had acquired a 3.53 per cent stake in RBL Bank Ltd, and also indicated that it may increase the stake by up to 9.9 per cent in the future. M&M’s stock ended 6.39 per cent lower on BSE, at Rs 1,446.85.
Cipla, Sun Pharma, Divis Lab, Hero MotoCorp, Apollo Hospitals, HDFC Life, Hindalco, Tata Motors, Dr Reddys, L&T, and Bharti Airtel were the top gainers in today’s session.
M&M, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consumers, Britannia, Nestle India, Bajaj Finance, BPCL, Axis Bank, Adani Enterprises, and ONGC were the top losers today.
