A parliamentary panel has asked the Finance Ministry to expeditiously come out with a common income tax return (ITR) form to ease the return filing process for individuals and non-business taxpayers.
In November last year, the ministry had put out the common ITR form in public domain seeking comments and suggestions from stakeholders. It had proposed to come out with a user-friendly common income tax return form for all taxpayers, except trusts and non-profit organisations.
