Domestic equity markets continued their bull run and hit yet another fresh high on Wednesday on sustained foreign fund inflows, stable earnings and strong global cues.
The benchmark Sensex gained 0.45 per cent, or 302.3 points, to settle at 67,097.44 for the first time. This was the fifth straight trading session when the Sensex ended at a new peak. The broader Nifty rallied 83.9 points, or 0.42 per cent, to end at 19,833.15 on Wednesday. Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought Rs 1,165.47 crore of domestic shares on Wednesday, the provisional data from BSE showed. The overseas investors have pumped in Rs 1.13 lakh crore into the equity market so far in 2023.
