India’s reliance on imported crude rises to 88.3% in April-June

India on Thursday banned “with immediate effect” the export of non-basmati white rice (Semi-milled or wholly milled rice, whether or not polished or glazed), by amending the export policy of the commodity from “Free” to “Prohibited”.
A notification to this effect was issued by the Directorate of Foreign Trade (DGFT), which comes under the Department of Commerce.
