Mercedes-Benz on Friday launched the EQE electric SUV in India at Rs 1.39 crore. The EQE will be positioned below the EQS in the line of Mercedes SUVs. The German automaker is offering a 10-year battery warranty for the luxury electric SUV, a first for them to do so.
The Mercedes EQE e-SUV is being offered as a lone variant, and has been named ‘500 4MATIC.’ The German carmaker has said that the EQE will be sold as a CBU unit in India. It added that Mercedes-Benz has integrated the charging network in a new app, which will provide access to 150+ additional DC chargers beyond the franchise network.

The SUV has a 56-inch Hyperscreen dashboard as standard, besides three other screens, which include a fully digital instrument cluster, an infotainment unit, and a display for the front passenger.

The EQE also has haptic controls on the steering wheel, multi-zone climate control, leatherette upholstery, and electrically adjustable seats. The newly launched Mercedes model also has nine airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and traction control.
The EV’s infotainment system runs the latest MBUX operating system. It’s power comes from two motors, one placed on each axle. The car features 90.56 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which gives the EQE a range of 765 km on a single charge, according to Mercedes-Benz.
The 500 4MATIC variant zooms from 0 to 100 km per hour in 4.9 seconds, the company said, and added that the EV has a top speed of 210 kmph.
The EQE will compete with the Audi Q8 e-tron, BMW iX, and Jaguar I-Pace in its segment.
