The NSE’s Nifty closed above the 20,000 mark for the first time ever on Wednesday as lower-than-expected consumer price index-(CPI) inflation for August and higher industrial growth in July boosted investor sentiments. The 50-share Nifty ended at an all-time high of 20,070, up 76.8 points, or 0.38 per cent.
The 30-share BSE continued its rally for the ninth straight session and ended at 67,466.99, up 245.86 points, or 0.37 per cent.
