Domestic equities plunged on Thursday but pared off their early losses amid escalating war in West Asia. BSE benchmark Sensex 247.78 points, or 0.38 per cent to 65,629.24, and broader NSE Nifty 50 fell 46.40 points, or 0.24 per cent to 19,624.70.
Stocks that weighed down the key indices were Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Sun Pharma, NTPC, UPL, Hindalco, Coal India, Bharti Airtel, Dr Reddys, Tata Steel, Adani Ports, ICICI Bank, HDFC Life, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Reliance Industries.
