Domestic equities slumped on Wednesday after as US Treasury yields hit fresh 16-year highs overnight. BSE benchmark Sensex settled 286.06 points, or 0.44 per cent lower at 65,226.04, while broader NSE Nifty 50 fell 92.65 points, or 0.47 per cent to 19,436.10.
In the intraday session, Sensex touched a low of 64,878.77, down 633 points, and Nifty fell to 19,333.60, down 195 points.
