After trading in positive for most of the session, key domestic indices closed flat on Tuesday amid mixed global cues. BSE benchmark Sensex ended 3.94 points higher at 65,220.03, while broader NSE Nifty50 closed around 3 points higher at 19,396.45.
Jio Financial Services continued its downward rally, and hit the lower circuit for the second session straight, closing 5 per cent lower at Rs 239.20 on BSE. The stock listed on bourses on yesterday, a month after the company was demerged from Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries.
Adani Power ended 6.88 per cent higher at Rs 347.40 on BSE after the company said it is targeting 21,110 MW thermal capacity by FY2029. Adani Enterprises gained over 2 per cent after Gautam Adani-led promoter group increased its stake in the conglomerate.

Except for India Vix, all broader markets closed in green. Nifty Midcap 50 jumped 0.96 per cent, Nifty Midsmallcap 400 gained 0.93 per cent, Nifty Midcap Select jumped 1.02 per cent, Nifty Microcap 250 rose 1.18 per cent, and Nifty Smallcap 50 climbed 0.86 per cent.
Sectorally, Nifty Metal surged 0.85 per cent, the consumer durables segment gained 0.69 per cent, FMCG rose 0.66 per cent, and the media index jumped 0.59 per cent. On the other hand, Nifty PSU Bank closed 0.49 per cent lower, Nifty Pharma slipped 0.20 per cent, and Nifty IT fell 0.11 per cent.
Adani Enterprises, HDFC Life, ITC, NTPC, Hero MotoCorp, M&M, Wipro, SBI Life, L&T, Axis Bank, Tata Steel, Maruti Suzuki, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Auto, Power Grid, and Hindalco were the top gainers.
Meanwhile, the worst performing stocks in the Nifty50 index were Jio Financial Services, BPCL, Cipla, Eicher Motors, Bajaj Finserv, SBI, TCS, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Tech Mahindra, UPL, and Divis Lab.
