Domestic equities snapped their two-day winning streak on Thursday after a lackluster result by TCS in the second quarter. BSE benchmark Sensex slipped 64.66 points, or 0.10 per cent to 66,408.39, while broader NSE Nifty 50 fell 17.35 points, or 0.09 per cent to 19,794.
IT stocks were the top losing stocks today, as HCLTech slipped 2.70 per cent, followed by Infosys at 2 per cent and TCS at 1.88 per cent. Infosys is due to announce its Q2 results later today, while TCS yesterday reported an 8.7 per cent jump in its net profit at Rs 11,342 crore in the quarter ended September. The company also announced a share buyback up to 4.09 crore equity shares of the company for an aggregate amount not exceeding Rs 17,000 crore.
