TCS Q1 net profit rises 17% to Rs 11,074 cr; North American market witnesses slower growth

India’s retail inflation or consumer price index in June rose to 4.81 per cent but remained within the tolerance range of the Reserve Bank of India, the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation stated on Wednesday.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) jumped for the first time in five months to 4.81 per cent from 4.31 per cent in May on the back of a jump in vegetable prices.
The Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) jumped 4.49 per cent in June from 2.96 per cent in May. The previous high was in March as CPI jumped 5.66 per cent.

Last month, the RBI kept policy rates unchanged at 6.5 per cent and projected retail inflation for the current fiscal to average at 5.1 per cent. It pegged inflation in the June quarter at 4.6 per cent.
India’s industrial production rose 5.2 per cent in May against 19.7 per cent a year ago, the government data showed.
The manufacturing sector’s output increased by 5.7 per cent in May 2023,while the mining output rose 6.4 per cent. Power output grew 0.9 per cent in the month under review.
