Hours after businessman Parag Desai’s death was announced, condolences poured in on social media and elsewhere.
The Executive Director of Wagh Bakri Tea Group died on Sunday at a private hospital in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Desai, 49, was admitted to the hospital last week and was being treated for a severe head injury after a sudden mishap near his residence.
The Wagh Bakri Tea Group shared this announcement via their Instagram Story.
According to Express sources, Parag succumbed to health complications late on Sunday.

Parag was a fourth-generation member of the Desai family which manages the businesses of the Wagh Bakri Group, founded by Narandas Desai in 1892. He was one of the two executive directors on the board of Wagh Bakri Tea Group.
Parag was the son of Wagh Bakri Tea Group’s MD Rasesh Desai.
He had joined the family business in the 1990s after graduating with an MBA from Long Island University, US. He used to spearhead the company’s sales, marketing, and exports for the group and was an expert tea taster and evaluator.
He is survived by his wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha.
